Today's episode features the 1935 thriller The Mark of the Vampire, starring Bela Lugosi and Lionel Barrymore. This film was directed by Tod Browning, who also directed Dracula (1931), and, stylistically, the two films have an uncannily similar aesthetic quality to them. But further elaboration on this duality would, unfortunately, give away...

It definitely is one of the most influential with its dance and production techniques still being seen in some of today's music videos. Originally written and produced for the big screen, "Singin' in the Rain" was later scaled down and adapted for the Broadway stage. TRIVIA: The title song "Singin' in the Rain" was originally from "The Hollywood Revue of 1929." It was used again in "Speak...

SUSPENSE 1942 SUSPENSE an introduction Copyright Jim Widner (jwidner@infinet.com) 18 Oct 1994 On September 30, 1962 a major milestone in radio drama came to an end with the final episode of the long running series, SUSPENSE . Ironically, the episode was titled "Devil Stone" and was the last dramatic radio play from a series that had its roots in the golden age of radio. . What began as a "new series frankly dedicated to your horrification and entertainment" took on a life of...

An atmospheric film starring Charles Russell and Mary Beth Hughes. Fritz Leiber, Sr. (father of the famous author) has a cameo as a seer or psychic. "You're very pretty ... when those lips aren't moving." The IMDB entry is here. This print seems to be complete and may be of higher quality than the one already in the Archive. You can load the mpeg2 file into DVDAuthorGUI (a free program) and create a DVD to watch on your television.

A eight minute episode of BatMan to introduce Bat Girl. The ratings at this were low and Yvonne Craig as Bat Girl was there to boost the ratings. This "episode" was shown to the "suits" of 20th century fox and never aired. I figure it's PD.
